Many of you have heard about JCLC but we probably have not done the best job on informing you.
Where: FT. Benning
When: 11-15 June 2012 - Depart 6:00AM Monday by school bus. Return Friday afternoon after graduation.
Who: About 360 cadets from Atlanta and Cobb school ( majority are Army JROTC units) 10 will go from Hillgrove unit
What: This is a fun yet challenging week. They will get live in dorms at Columbia State University with close supervision. Eat at Columbia State cafeteria and at Ft Benning for lunch. They will get a chance to participate in rappelling, zip line, Leadership confidence courses, swim survial training, as well as other fun events.
Who can come: You are invited Thursday to join us for family day and Friday morning for graduation. We need to know if you are coming and how many as soon as possible. You will get to watch you cadet meet some of the challenges and maybe even join in yourself time permitting.
JROTC CADET LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE MISSION: To provide the Junior ROTC cadets an environment conducive to the practical application of good citizenship and leadership techniques, and to introduce cadets to adventure training and activities.
JROTC CADET LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE OBJECTIVES:
a. To enable cadets to practice leadership in an unfamiliar environment.
b. To enable all cadets to participate in citizenship-building exercise.
c. To give cadets the opportunity to experience living and interacting with their peers in an outdoor setting.
d. To enable JROTC cadre to instruct and assist with skills in a "hands on" outdoor environment.
e. Allow for participation in adventure training not available on campus.
f. To take advantage of the recreational facilities available at the JCLC site, and to HAVE FUN!
