Students took a quiz on Monday that covered the unit circle.  Any student that would like to re-quiz may do so on Wed. after school, Thur. before or after, or on Monday before or after.

Honors Calculus

I took up the classwork/homework that was assigned on Friday.  I told the students on Friday I would be collecting the homework and giving a completion grade.  I was very disappointed at the number of students who did not have any of the work or who had less than half.  Test is coming up on Wednesday.  If you do not practice Calculus you will not be good at it.  Today they were given a worksheet to work on.  I told the students I would take it up and grade it tomorrow.  I will give it back before they leave class.  I am just again checking the % attempted.  Homework Homework Homework... You should be doing it for you not me.... But you should be doing it....

Daily Questions... Daily Questions.... Daily Questions... These are going to let you know if your student is doing the homework.  Students are being very honest when I ask them if they are doing homework.  I am getting about half are doing homework and half are not.  The Daily Questions have been coming straight from the homework.  If your student needs to come in after school and work on homework they are always welcome to. 

Honors Calculus

Today we started learning about taking derivatives of Natural Logs.  We went over rules for logs from Algebra 2.  The students have a short assignment over Logs.  We will go over homework tomorrow and spend another day on logs.  Our daily question tomorrow is over Chain rule.  The daily questions today were very bad.  Quiet a few students have not been working homework problems.  The problems look easy when I work them in class.  It is so important for the students to practice the problems at home.  The last 4 daily questions have been pulled straight from old homework questions.  Students should be doing well on them. 

Honors Calculus

Today was day two with Chain Rule... We went over lots of homework questions.  So I assigned two additional homework problems tonight.  The students had a day 19 homework assignment and I added the problems 28 & 30.  These are the hard evens from the problems they struggled with last night.  I gave the students the answers to these problems.  Please check Pinnacle daily.  That will be a great indicator if your student is getting the material.  Tomorrows Daily Question will be another Product/Quotient Rule.

Honors Calculus

Today we went over the product rule and the quotient rule.  I got the general feeling that a lot of the students did not do all the homework over the weekend... We went over the homework in class today and have the Daily Questions tomorrow... I hope the students do well.... Algebra Algebra Algebra... We are really working on it.... Please encourage your students to take the SAT after they complete Honors Calculus... We do a lot of Algebra and Geometry review... Students who have taken the SAT in the past have done much better on the math portion after this class.  Good luck tomorrow... Also I will not be available for tutoring on Tuesday or Thursday after school this week... Please plan accordingly :)  Here is the new assignment sheet.

Honors Calculus

We took our 8th Daily Quiz today. Hopefully your student has an understanding of their weaknesses and strengths for the upcoming test.  The students have a couple of review sheets.  Please make sure they are being studied this weekend.... because our first test is a Monday test.  Rework all old questions from the Daily Quizzes.... You have the problems, how you worked them, the corrections, and all the correct answers.  These are a tool.... Use Them!!  Have a great weekend and good luck on Monday!!!!

Honor's Calculus

Today we learned about finding horizontal asymptotes using Calculus.  We also took a quiz on finding limits Algebraically.  Tomorrows daily quiz is finding vertical asymptotes.  Good luck :)
