U.S. History: Week #6

Dear Parents & Students....

This week will continue Unit #4 from Friday of last week.  Unit #4 is a quick unit covering two key topics in the Standards: Reform Movements and Westward Expansion.

MONDAY:

-Continue the notes for Unit #4 textbook - Chapter 9

-Library - Students will work to complete USATestPrep Assignment #3 (and/or Test Remediation for Test #1 or Test #2)

-GPS => SSUSH-7b, 7c, 7d

-Collect Bare Bones #3, Portfolio #3, USATestPrep Assignment #3 (if completed)

-Group Activity- Follow rubric to complete assigned tasks/Posters

 

TUESDAY:

-Continue the notes for Unit #4 - textbook - Chapter 8

-GPS=> SSUSH-8a, 8d, 8e

-Collect Bare Bones #4, Portfolio #4, USATestPrep Assignment #4

-Group Activity- Presentations/Turn in Assignment/Posters

 

WEDNESDAY:

-Continue the notes for Unit #3 (textbook - Chapter 7)

-GPS=> SSUSH-7b, 7c, 7d, 8a, 8d, 8e

-Review for Vocabulary Quiz #4

-Collect Bare Bones #4, Portfolio #4, USATestPrep Assignment #4

-Presidents Video (Martin Van Buren, William H. Harrison, and John Tyler)

-Review for Test #3 (using study guide)

 

THURSDAY:

-Collect Bare Bones #4, Portfolio #4, USATestPrep Assignment #4 (these are due)

-Students need to complete Test #4 - Reform & Westward Expansion

-Distribute (Bare Bones #5 and Portfolio #5)

 

FRIDAY:

-Introduce Unit #5 - "Antebellum Era, Civil War, & Reconstruction" (textbook - Chapters 10-12)

-Assign Bare Bones #5, Portfolio #5, and USATestPrep Assignment #5

-Complete Student Group Activity for Portfolio #5 (Students will be placed in assigned groups, use their textbook to research GPS for Unit #5, and present assigned standards to the class).
