Math 2 with Support Week #3 1/23 - 1/27

Monday 1/23

    Mitchell Group

  • We went over the homework and answered questions.
  • Students got in to their quads to do more practice of writing absolute value equations as piecewise functions: Download 5 - Writing Absolute Value Eqn as Piecewise Functions
  • CW workbook p. 53 #12 - 14.  We went over these in class.
  • Students then took a daily check over this material.
  • HW textbook p. 51 #12 - 14 and p. 52 #8 - 10

Tuesday 1/24

  • We went over the homework and answered questions.
  • Students got in to their quads to do more practice of writing absolute value equations as piecewise functions: Download 5 - Writing Absolute Value Eqn as Piecewise Functions
  • CW workbook p. 53 #12 - 14.  We went over these in class.
  • Students then took a daily check over this material.

Wednesday 1/25

  • We went over the homework.  Beware, some students are starting to slack off on completing homework.  This is not a good way to start the 2nd half of this year long class.  Students need to practice.
  • We practiced simple transformations of absolute value graphs and then practiced writiting absolute value graphs as piecewise funtions.  Today, students worked ALONE, not in groups.  Students have been taking advantage (socially) of being in groups and have lost some of their math focus.  Download 6 - Given graphs of abs value write piecewise functions
  •  CW/HW worksheet:  Download 6 - Given Graphs Write Absolute Value as Piecewise

  • We went over hw and worked a few problems.
  • Students got in to thier quads. We practiced checking the solutions when solving absolute value equations.  We also practiced solving and checking.
  • Notes: Download 7 - Solve Absolute Value Equations 
  • Daily check
  • HW:  textbook p. 30 #7 - 16
