Greetings from Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at the Georgia Institute of Technology!

We are contacting you regarding the Ivan Allen College Shadow Day, a fantastic opportunity we offer to prospective juniors each spring. Shadow Day gives rising seniors interested in receiving a liberal arts education at a highly ranked research institute a glimpse into the lives of current students through attending classes, receiving guided tours, sitting in on informational sessions, and dinning and conversing with our faculty, staff, and dean!

We will be holding this event on Friday, February 3rd and Monday, April 2nd. If you have any juniors that would be interested in attending, please let them know about this opportunity. Ivan Allen College also offers unique building tours and information sessions every other week. These tours are led by Ivan Allen College Student Ambassadors. Prospective students and parents will have the opportunity to meet current students, see classrooms up close and enjoy a vibrant tour of our six schools. Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship

The Janice M Scott Memorial Scholarship- Deadline March 31, 2012  This $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior with a 3.0 or higher GPA, who has demonstrated leadership, and whose parents income does not exceed $100,000.  Come by the counseling office for more information.

Historically Black College Tour

Historically Black College/University Tour

The 5 Star Youth Alliance, Inc.  will be conducting it’s Spring 2012 HBCU College Tours out of Atlanta, GA.  This tour will expose students to a few of the many different options that are available to them after high school.    It is designed to increase the enrollment of African American students into college, as well as increase the enrollment of our Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The tour will start on Sunday April 1^st ,2012 from Atlanta, GA and will return Saturday April 7^th, 2012.  The total cost of the tour is $650.00.  The following colleges and universities that will be targeted are: Norfolk State University, Elizabeth City State University, Morgan State University, Coppin State University, Bowie State University, Howard University, Virginia State University, and Virginia Union University.

The purpose of the tour is to have students tour the campus; walk through academic residential, athletic and administrative buildings; meet with faculty, financial aid counselors, and Admissions representatives;  as well as, meet students and talk with them about campus life
