10th Blocks 1 & 4: SAT Warm Up. Discussed annotation: How to Annotate and What to Annotate (handout.) Discussed "A Visit to Grandmother's" ppt and read the story p. 243-249 annotating text and discussing story elements. Worked in groups using indirect characterization graphic organizer recording textual evidence.
9th Block 3: EOCT Practice - Setting, Mood, and Tone. Students continued working in small groups with graphic organizers identifying literary elements of "The Necklace." Student answers along with a list of the story's themes were shared with the whole class. Writing - Students chose one of the character's traits and explained 2 incidences from the story where the trait was demonstrated along with interpretation.
