Due Monday, Jan 3: Sketchbook Creative Mug Test Page
- Evidence of research - photos and influences on your topic or theme
- Written communication - writing on your sketchbook page that explains your ideas, building plans, notes, extension ideas, your thinking process.
- Emotional attachments - why are you drawn to theme you have chosen. Make your sketchbook personal.
- Looks like you are really into your theme – Convince a viewer that really are interested in your own idea and that you are not settling.
- Two most important views - front and back
- Drawing is detailed and large
- Good sketches are what sell an idea to yourself and others!
CERAMICS I SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENT: Due Monday, Jan. 30. Create six sketches for the Creative Personal Mug assignment. Remember to include various views that give information about all sides, as well as the top and bottom. Create narrative symbols to incorporate into the mug that express something about you, and use the handle of the mug in the conceptual design.
Resource Photos for images that you are creating are required as well. Cut them out and glue them into your sketchbook. Worth 10 points.
(Your sketchbooks will have more imagery than these examples).
CLASSWORK:
1) Begin and Complete Wafer Bowls; 2) Begin Creative Personal Mug using slab technique; 3) Complete coil pot with impressed designs; 4) Critique the work of ceramic artists who use personal symbols in their work; 5) The Origins of Pottery; 6) Pre-Columbian Pottery.
