3rd Block Intro Culinary Arts
Today we made fudge all class period.

Today we took a post-test then we worked in our final project groups. We also finished up the crossword puzzle if you haven't done so. Finished up with rags to riches.
Today in culinary we went over chapter nine two and completed the section. It was dips and condiments. Next we preped for our Iron Chef Salad competition. Tomorrow we will complete Iron Chef.
Miss Griser went over information about careers in the foodservice industry and jobs in general. Then, students completed a crossword puzzle using the vocabulary from the introducton to the textbook. Afterwards, Miss Griser used a website to explain the different stages of candy-making. Students will attempt to make caramel and saltwater taffy in upcoming classes.
Today in Culinary 1 we worked by ourselves on some notes, a new math assingment, and the recipe math worksheet that was from Friday. Then Ms. Griser went over the notes and grocery lists were due today for iron chef salads and senior finals.
1st block cooked today. We had a "clean the fridge"/cinco de mayo theme to our cooking!
Intro classes finished nutrient notes, played rags to riches to prepare for the test on Friday and watched an episode of Unwrapped with a classwork assignment.
Making casseroles tomorrow! Article summaries/Restaurant Review #6 due today!
Today in Culinary One, we made brownies for the PTSA. We also coninued with the salad notes and finished the block with the beginning of a video about the most extreme restaurants.
Intro classes continued with Nutrition notes. Students completed the questions at the end of sections 6.3 and 6.4 and turned in as classwork. 2nd block watched and Unwrapped about foods that are good for you. 3rd block watched an Unwrapped about foods with Protein.
Upcoming items:
Wednesday--all classes cooking--be appropriately dressed.
Friday--Intro classes have a test on Nutrition. We will review in class, so don't count on the links to study at home. If you choose not to pay attention in class, you will not benefit.
May 11--Culinary One grocery list due for Salad Iron Chef
May 12 and 13--A portion of each block will be dedicated to Iron Chef
May 14--Culinary One classes will take a test on Salads, dips and garnishes...Chapter 9; Intro classes will take their POSTTEST.
May 15--All seniors will take their cooking portion of their final exam.
May 18--Culinary One will take their POSTTEST; 3rd block will take the written portion of their final exam.
May 19--1st and 2nd blocks will take the written portion of their final exam.
May 21 and 22--cooking finals for underclassmen.
