Class had a final review for the semester exam, which include an AP terms review, as well as a discussion/charting of the following poems: "When I Have Fears..."(Keats); "Dover Beach" (Arnold); "God's Grandeur"(Hopkins); "The World is Too..."(Wordsworth); "A Certain Slant of Light" (Dickinson); "The Death of a Toad" (Wilber); "Ozymandias" (Shelley)

Today's review focused on final poem from the practice AP exam, as well as the following poems: "Do Not Go Gentle..." (Thomas); "Landscape of the Fall..."(Williams); "The Second Coming" (Yeats); "A Valediction:..." (Donne); "Journey of the Magi" (Eliot)' "In Memorium..." (Tennyson)

After reviewing possible essay topics (Death of a Salesman) for the final exam (attached), the class viewed all of Act 1 and the opening to Act 2. We will complete the film the 1st half of tomorrow's class, followed by working on outlines for the essay. There is no set number of required quotes, but I should be able to assess format, to include transitions, so at least two body paragraphs. Those essays turned in Monday will receive 5 "insurance" points for the final and 4 points if turned in Tuesday.

After a looping review of a passage from As I Lay Dying as prep.for the final, the class picked back up with a reading of Death of a Salesman (act 1). We will complete act 1 and begin act two tomorrow.

After a review of literary movements, class completed APOM essays as needed and worked on the Macbeth study guide for Friday's exam. Tomorrow, we will review one of the poems from the practice AP exam that will be on the final and continue to prep for the Macbeth exam. After the exam on Friday, we will begin reading Death of a Salesman as a parallel reading for Macbeth.

After a review of AP lit. terms # 4, with particular attention given to meter terms, the class read/discussed Act 5 of Macbeth (scenes 2-8), followed by a viewing of the film and discussion and review of a sample essay over clothing imagery. Reminder that tomorow is the in-class essay over APOM. Macbeth exam date tba.
