- Rules
- To start of the game, a player must serve underhand and the racket must make contact with the birdie below the waist.
- Serving:
- Must travel diagonally (cross court)
- If the birdie hits the net and lands on opponents side, it is called a let and the serve is done again.
- Player cannot touch the net with a racket or body.
- The birdie can hit the net during a volley and play will continue.
- Player may not reach over the net to hit the birdie
- Games will be played to 21 points
- Points are scored after each serve, regardless of who served
- If the birdie hits the boundary line it is considered in bounds.
- Singles play
- Serve from right side when server’s score is even and left side when their score is odd
- Doubles play
- Each time the serving team wins the point, the same server continues to serve from the other side of the court
- No player will receive two consecutive serves
- Receiving team never changes courts
- When receiving team wins the rally their server is determined by whether their score is even (right side serves) or odd(left side serves)
- Students will be separated into 4 teams of 10 or 11.

Differentiation
Students will have option to continue to work on volleying and using forehand/backhand skills the beginning of the unit while using the net or not using the net, while others will start with game play of Badminton.

- 3 outs per inning (in class whole team bats through once regardless of number of outs***)

- 3 strikes (strike- when a batter swings and misses or hits a foul) (2 strike in class***)

- Base Running
- Must touch each base
- Allowed to run through first base
- Cannot lead off, no stealing
- Player must wait for a fly ball to be caught before tagging up
- A base runner is out if:
- Runner is tagged with ball before reaching a base
- Ball reaches a base before the runner if it is a force out, always a force out at 1st base

- Scoring
- Rally scoring will be used.
- There will be a point scored after every serve
- Offense will score on a defense miss or out of bounds hit.

- To start of the game, there is a jump ball
- Scoring – 3 different ways to score, with 3 different point variations
- 1 point – kick it into the goal, like soccer
- 2 points – touchdown catch it in the zone, like ultimate frisbee
- 3 points – shoot a three point shot like basketball

- After each score, change of possession occurs and play begins in the end zone of the team that was just scored on.
- Touchdown catch must have at least 1 foot in the end zone a the time of the catch, cannot run it
- A ball kicked into the end zone and caught is not a touchdown, a pass must occur
- Lift- can be done with any part of your leg.
- Ball cannot be picked up off the ground, it must be lifted with a part of a player’s leg
